In what was one of the most incredible comebacks in Champions' League history, Liverpool claimed the trophy by defeating AC Milan in last night's (25-May-2005) final. The Reds were dead and buried by half-time as they were trailing 3-0 and looking incapable of mounting any sort of challenge. The half-time talk by Rafael Benitez must have been nothing short of inspirational as they came back magnificently and within fifteen minutes the score was level with goals from Steven Gerrard, Vladimir Smicer and Xabi Alonso who smashed in the rebound after his penalty was saved. The score didn't change after extra time and Jerzy Dudek was the hero of the penalty shoot-out by saving two penalties to help Liverpool to win 3-2 and become European Champions for the fifth time!!!
